Crowley Lake
This high-desert lake with the snow-covered Sierra as a backdrop has some of the strongest fighting fish on the planet. If you've caught 18" trout on 5x tippet elsewhere, you'd better be ready to see your backing if you are going to pull it off at Crowley.

Browns and Rainbows to 26", especially in the second half of the season when bait fishing is prohibited, are achievable. Great access for float tubing around the lake and boat fishing out of the Crowley Lake Fish Camp marina at the south end.
Lower Owens River
This year-round fishery comprises a "trophy-trout" section which is catch-and-release, artificial only in the upper section, and a lower section where regular rules apply. Dry-fly hatches are excellent, usually midday, with nymphing all day producing browns and Rainbows up to 16" routinely and ones in the 20"+ range possible. Open year round.

Owens River Gorge
This small tailwater, 45 CFS, can be good but watch for nettles and snakes. General fishing regulations apply but please be sure to practice catch and release in this fragile fishery with Browns to 14". Open year round.
