Nathan Wray started ocean fishing at the ripe old
age of eight, and started making annual summer trips to the Eastern Sierra
to fish about that same time. After attending college in the mountains
of northern California, (actually doing more fishing than studying he
admits), he once again found the unrivaled fishing this area has to offer.
Nathan has now lived in Mammoth for nine years and is constantly fishing
the area as well as hiking the backcountry in search of giant, and ever
elusive, High Sierra golden trout. He is known as the shop’s backcountry
guiding specialist.
Nathan has been with the shop longer than any other store employee and
was promoted to shop manager this year.If you are already a Trout Fly customer,
he has probably put you on some great fishing with fly recommendations
plus that good ol’ local knowledge . Now with the guiding, he says
he is living his life long dream.

Josh Hevron is
a Sierra-born Clearwater guide school graduate who has been around the
Mammoth and Tahoe region his entire life before making Mammoth his permanent
base in the early 1990's with a hefty back ground of heritage (3
gen's that is). His dad has always been a back packer in the area
and long time local. Josh knows good spots, techniques and truly what
it takes to get the job done right the first time. He has a great level
of fly fishing knowledge and teaching tactics that are sure to
improve your skills.
Whether
beginner or expert, Josh will work his tail off to better your
time in the area .Some other achievements in Josh's angling career
are being featured in numerous fishing magazine articles (some
examples are fly fish America and the Los Angeles Times), teaching
the Mammoth Lakes High School fly fishing club and helping aquatic
researchers from around the area, but he is the most proud of being
on a true piscatorial pursuit spending roughly 300 days a year on the
water fishing an enjoying all the magical things that happen outdoors
while thinking which flies to go home and tie afterward for the
next session. Always enthusiastic, Josh is more than prepared to show
you a remarkable time on the water. |
